Indianapolis Fire Department Ladder Company 13 is located in the heart of Downtown Indianapolis in the Canal District. Organized in 1896, Ladder 13 has been protecting the citizens of Indianapolis for over 116 years.
Indianapolis Fire Station 13 has always been located in Downtown Indianapolis, and they've had a bad habit of being where the next big downtown building project is going. Station 13 was organized in 1896 in what was know as the "Central Station" at 26 E. Maryland. That was home until 1912 when they moved to a new station at 102 Kentucky Avenue. Displaced by the Convention Center in 1969, they moved to 56 S. Senate, where they were displaced by the Westin Hotel in 1986. Fire Station 13's current home is at 429 W. Ohio Street on the Canal.
